After studying art for a year in Canada, music took precedence over the visual arts; and I found my voice in the nightclubs of an emerging Toronto music scene. While touring extensively for several years I often painted as I traveled, making my own souvenirs of the places and things I saw. The camera became my friend as I captured the magnificence of nature, frame after frame. I used pastels and color pencils and sometimes charcoal and water colors which were transportable. Many pictures and memories from trips abroad are constant sources of inspiration to me in addition to the beauty of South Carolina's Low Country, the native plants and colorful Southern skies.
I do commissioned work and offer my oils and acrylics for sale. Some works have been donated for charitable fundraising. I truly enjoy each painting as I work through the process. When I have completed a painting and the journey for me has ended, I am compelled to find another blank canvas.
